NATHALIE TEIRLINCK
Nathalie Teirlinck studied Audiovisual Arts in Ghent and graduated in 2007. Her first short "Anémone" as well as her graduating film "Juliette" won both the award for Best Short Film at the Ghent International Film Festival and the Leuven Short Film Festival in 2006 and 2007. The films were selected for numerous international film festivals including the 60th Locarno Filmfestival where "Anémone" was nominated for the "Leopard of Tomorrow".
End 2007 Nathalie receives the VAF Wild Card of the Flanders Audiovisual Fund allowing her to direct her latest short film "Venus vs. Me", produced by Emerald Films. "Venus vs. Me" was nominated for the Golden Bear at 60th Berlin International Film Festival where she received the award of the European Film Academy. Recently the film was also awarded a Fonske Belgian Cinema Award for Best Belgian Short at the Ostend Film Festival and won both the 16ORO for Best Short and the film critic's Billy Award at the Sedicicorto International Film Festival in Italy. Among others, Nathalie also directed some music videos (Novastar, Admiral Freebee,...), commissioned films, video installations and two theatre plays produced by Malpertuis.
Nowadays she started writing her first feature film.
